Since 2008, Damian Alexander-Hotep Dawson of Detroit, Michigan has served as a creative spirit for established and emerging companies in the arts, culture, and entertainment industries. He started with Warner Records in their radio "mix-show" department. Tapping into his entrepreneurial mindset - Damian went on to successfully launch regional and national radio campaigns as a Partner for Live The Music Group while executing creative direction, experiential marketing, publicity and social media strategies for his roster of artists independently. His next move was StockX, a $3.8 billion unicorn start-up, where his creative and cultural insights drove 209% ROI. Subsequently, he led Brand Activation for another start-up, 1xRun, the world's leading publisher of fine art editions and online destination for original art resulting in the company's highest ever GMV and 2x growth in revenue. Damian's ability to persevere at Northwood University by receiving his Bachelors of BA (Entertainment, Sports, Promotion and Management) along with his passion for making the business of art and culture more equitable and inclusive for "next generation creatives" excited Michigan State University's Media and Information graduate screening committee where he studied at MSU's Master of Arts program by recommendation with a focus in Media Policy and Artificial Intelligence.
