For the last ten years, Damian Dawson has solidified himself as a marketing mastermind in the entertainment industry. From creative direction to influencer marketing, Damian is leading the new renaissance of innovators and holding a well-deserved title as Cultural Content Creator. Raised in Detroit, Damian studied Entertainment, Sports and Promotions Management, with a Marketing minor at Northwood University. In 2008, he began his journey at Warner Bros. Records, in the radio promotions department where he witnessed the launch of Hip-Hop heavyweight Wiz Khalifa. The label experience helped cultivate his many talents and created the foundation for his promising career. In 2009, he joined Live The Music Group, and spent several years at the helm of national radio campaigns for DMK, J. Drew and more. He also spearheaded marketing, publicity and social media strategies for their blossoming roster, landing features with BET, Yahoo! Music and Apple Music. In 2017, he launched "Stuck in the 90s,” a lifestyle experience to celebrate the nostalgia of a golden era in Black culture. The inaugural event amassed a sold-out crowd of industry tastemakers and corporate sponsors Lyft, TIDAL and Tanqueray. Damian is no stranger to paying it forward and values the importance of investing in his community and uplifting the youth through the arts. He recently taught a master class at the Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME) and as creative consultant for D’USSÉ Palooza he was instrumental in securing local talent and social influencers. Currently, he works as the Senior Manager, Creator Relations at StockX. Damian is preparing to embark on an exciting new chapter as CEO of his own marketing agency. The full-service agency will focus on a highly-personal approach crafted specifically for brands to elevate visibility and expand their audience.
